Books That Changed My Business: Essentialism by Greg McKeown

Before I read the book Essentialism by Greg McKeown I used to say Yes, to every opportunity. But, my big dreams they were always forgotten… There was no time because I was saying Yes to everything else, except what mattered to me the most. It was how I lived my life for decades before I read Greg’s book (and I re-read it every year).

Because saying Yes to everything can often lead to the things you really dream of Never getting done!

When you are saying Yes to other people’s requests – it often means that your own priorities and dreams are receiving a big fat No

Especially, if like my past self…

Saying yes to one thing, actually means you’re saying No to other things.

Reading Greg’s story about saying No to a Law career to pursue other (not as well paying interests) really opened my eyes.

I could see how in my own business & life, the things I really wanted to do were being put off continually…

They often didn’t even make it on the radar…

I always said ‘I’ll get to that when I have time’

And then filling my calendar with non-essential tasks

Things that don’t actually make as big a difference…

This is why I’m passionate about launching – it helps me get really focused on connecting with others and helping them for a set time frame

I thrive in that focus and my business has grown as a result.

Now, do you have things that are on the back-burner that never make it to the front burner?

Then I suggest reading Essentialism by Greg McKeown, it’ll definitely help you focus on the Essential in your life and business.

If you read it, let me know your thoughts!

Now, I’m always on the lookout for new reads – what books have changed your life or business?

Send me a DM over on Instagram and let’s see if I can help!
