Are you focusing on the right things in your business? Is fear leading you off track?
I’ve been working with a client lately, helping her launch a new course.
This is a whole new arm of her business – a departure from her Face to Face offline business.
Something interesting I’ve noticed is that the more we start to develop her new product offering, the more she keeps jumping back to her existing business.
A business which is working fine and having new client enquiries every day.
Suddenly, she’s obsessed with a home page for an existing business that isn’t in trouble.
She’s tinkering, she’s changing things that don’t need to be changed right now.
On the outside, it’s easy to see the Fear going into these decisions.
Working in the new business likely feels uncomfortable right now – so it’s easier to go back to what she knows.
I know I’ve done this exact thing in the past.
All the gurus will tell you ‘If something is working you have to double down on it’ etc
But that doesn’t work for all of us. The multi-passionate creatives out there.
People, like me, who have more than one thing they want to get out into the world.
We need to trust that the universe will keep our existing business running while we dive head first into the new thing.
We need to have faith in ourselves that we can make this new project work just like the last successful project (which for some of us might just be our previous 9-5 career).
Are you finding this in your business right now? Is fear leading you off track? Are you avoiding the discomfort of the unknown?
What would you be doing if you believed everything you worked on would be a success?
Let me know below. Let’s start inspiring each other to move past the fear that’s holding us back.
